The Ukrainian Church Presses On
It is not frequently in the news anymore, but the war in Ukraine has raged on now for over 2 1/2 years. Missio Global has been active in Ukraine since 2016. We have had as many as three church-based Schools of Ministry functioning, but currently there is only one. One pastor has been called to the front while another who was preparing to launch a School of Ministry was killed when his church was struck by a missle about a year ago.
Pastor Sergei is our representative in Ukraine. During this time of war, he has shifted much attention to utilizing the discipleship material of Missio Global since many people are turning to God. Because the material is available in pdf, he has sent it to several churches across Ukraine. The teenagers in the photo above are being discipled in the first book, called CrossWalk, led by a member of the School of Ministry.
The Church provides hope and healing in times of war
Pastor Sergei is so proud of the church members and the impact they are having in their small city in central Ukraine. The church, led by the School of Ministry students, organized five evangelistic events this past summer. Many children and youths were reached. I have personally visited this church and can attest to their positive spirit and commitment!
Pastor Sergei is steadfast that his church members continue in discipleship and training so that they will be equipped to help others. This training and transformation is only taking place because of the ministry partners of Missio Global. Just $10 a month supports the training of a leader in one of 14 nations, including in Ukraine.
